Specialties: She is passionate about working with often underrepresented groups such as ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, women, military families, and first responders. She enjoys working with acute and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, shame, grief, and addiction. Miriam works with ages 16 and up.
Miriam’s priority is to develop a safe and trusting relationship with you. Within an atmosphere of compassion and collaboration, her focus is to assist you in reducing and managing symptoms, increasing self-awareness, cultivating joy and empowerment, and moving in the direction of growth and meaning.
She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas, El Paso with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (minor in Biological Science) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She also received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for demonstrating growth, improvement, and commitment to intellectual development in Psychology.
In addition to her academic training, she has experience working alongside leading researchers, clinicians, trainers, and U.S. Military professionals in prevention and intervention research and clinical efforts dedicated to promoting long-lasting behavior change among at-risk groups.
