April’s warmth and intuitive presence create a space where clients can show up exactly as they are, no performance required, no judgment in sight. She brings over a decade of experience to her work, along with a genuine belief that healing is possible for everyone.

April has spent more than 10 years working in community mental health, including meaningful time serving the Alaska Native population. She understands that life is hard, and sometimes what matters most is having someone willing to walk the journey alongside you. Her areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, perinatal bereavement, trauma, medical trauma, chronic pain, suicide, and neurodivergence, as well as support for LGBTQIA+ individuals, military members, veterans, and their families. As a military spouse herself, April brings personal understanding to the unique challenges that come with military life.

April approaches her work through a person-centered, humanistic lens, drawing on bottom-up modalities like EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to support healing at the level of the nervous system and the body. She also incorporates mindfulness practices to help clients deepen their self-awareness because she believes the better we know ourselves, the more grace we can offer ourselves along the way.

Outside of the office, April is a Matanuska Valley local who fell in love with Alaska on her very first visit in December 2005 and never looked back. She and her family moved to the Valley in 2013 after her husband completed eight years of military service. When she’s not in session, you’ll find her out in nature with her dogs and chickens, hiking in the mountains with her family, tending to her plants, reading, or settling in for a video game or a good TV show.
